Why SirriSalama Exists

Women in Marsabit's pastoral communities are often the first to notice early warning signs: a planned FGM ceremony, a family member drawn toward radicalisation, a pattern of violence at home. But every channel available to them carries real risk; social isolation, economic retaliation, or simply not being believed.

SirriSalama closes that gap with the simplest technology that actually reaches everyone: a USSD code that works on any phone, needs no data bundle, and never asks for a name or number. Phase 1 proves this model in Marsabit.

This is a community-wide platform built with women's safety at its center, because that is where the risk is highest. Long term, success means fewer early warning signs missed and a model that other counties and countries can adopt rather than rebuild from scratch.

Female Handler Enforcement

GBV and Child Protection reports go only to female handlers; enforced in code, independently verified, not just policy.
